HPLD on Social Networks - Facebook, MySpace, Etc - an opportunity?!
We've been looking at whether to actively pursue library use on social networks. So far, we're not seeing much interest. Libraries with pages are not getting many hits. On Facebook, most places have staff as fans.

We currently have an HPLD presence on both MySpace and Facebook. If we get fans...if we have staff willing and interested in maintaing content...then we could pursue a stronger presence. Note: if we do this, we may need to be ready to decide what we may have to give up to allow us to pursue this as well as identify measures for success.

Until then, I can't see us moving the program forward in a serious (and sustainable way). Thoughts? Comments? Brilliant ideas?! Volunteers to take this on to the next level?!!

Thanks! Elena
